What a wonderful 62nd North Carolina Women's Amateur Championship and congratulations to Katherine Perry on her 2nd NCWGA title.  Many thanks go to River Landing in Wallace, NC for hosting a wonderful tournament this year.  Jan Zoesch and her many fine volunteers rolled out the red carpet for all contestants and guests.  Thanks again to all of the River Landing community for their gracious hospitality.

We are starting to receive results from the 2011 State Play-Day Tournaments being held at the NCWGA Member Clubs.  The winner of each tournament receives a gold-finished charm with an NCWGA seal, her name engraved on an NCWGA plaque at her home club, and her name and picture displayed on the NCWGA State Play-Day Tournament web page.  The club winner with the lowest net winning score is the NCWGA State Play-Day Champion and will be recognized at our 2011 NCWGA Net Team Tournament in September.  For more information regarding the State Play-Day Tournament, please click on the link on our home page.

Save the date for the 7th Annual NCWGA Net Team Tournament, September 10-11, 2011, at Little River Golf and Resort in Carthage, North Carolina.  An optional practice round will be held on September 9.  This tournament continues to be one of the favorite women's golf events in North Carolina.  The tournament is a fun, four person team net format designed for players of all abilities to meet, socialize, and enjoy statewide competition.  Entry forms can be downloaded on line.  For more information, please click on the Net Team Tournament link.

It is a great honor and privilege for me to serve as President of the North Carolina Women's Golf Association.  I look forward to serving as President for the next two years.  Many thanks go to Linda Lemmons, Past President, for her guidance and leadership these past two years.  The members of the Board are very dedicated to the NCWGA and women's golf.  We are fortunate to have such committed board members.  Thank you also to our member clubs, individual members, and the Carolinas Golf Association for supporting the North Carolina Women's Golf Association and our mission of supporting and promoting women's golf in North Carolina.  Our 2012 championship will be played at Mimosa Hills Golf and Country Club in Morganton, NC.

We look forward to seeing you on the course!
