The 2004 State Amateur Tournament was held June 21-24 at
The Country Club of Asheville.
 
Debbie Adams won a sudden death play-off with Lori Teague to take the 55th annual North Carolina Women's State Amateur title.  Both players had shot 3-round totals of 227 on the 5,807 yard, par 72 course at the Country Club of Asheville in Asheville, NC.

Four places in each flight were awarded prizes.  The Junior trophy went to Joanna Davis of Raleigh, NC.  The Senior trophy was awarded to Patti Moore from Charlotte and the Senior Runner-up went to Mary Ray Hill from Winston-Salem.  The winner of the Super Senior trophy was Jean Williamson of Greensboro, with Linda Smythe of Waynesville runner-up.
